Bed and Breakfast Description

Nantucket, Massachusetts bed and breakfast: Cliff Lodge B&B

The Inn's lofty roof walk is a romantic vantage point from which to enjoy magical colors of a sunset and sunrise and the breathtaking panorama of Nantucket Sound stretching beyond the harbor of this historic seafaring town. Experience the leisurely ambience and delightful charm of the Cliff Lodge as a special place that always beckons you to return to enjoy its easy elegance.

View the spectacular collection of original artwork of local Nantucket artists, including Paul Galschneider, Paul Arsenault, Bobby Boushan and Robert Stark. While most of the paintings gracing the walls and rooms are part of the owner's personal collection, some are part of the Inn's revolving collection and are available for purchase by guests.

The buffet spread in the dining room each morning includes gourmet coffee, juice, fresh fruit, cereals (including our famous homemade granola), scones, and a variety of breads and home-baked muffins or pastries prepared by our pastry chef.

Area Attractions and Activities:

The cozy and historic Cliff Lodge is nestled in the hills above and between Nantucket's downtown cobblestone streets and the island's most pristine and popular beaches, right in the middle of the Historic District.

Take a short stroll to the center of town, where you'll find Oldest House (1686), the Old Mill (1746) and the Old Gaol (1805). Nantucket is home to the nation's largest collection of eighteenth-century buildings and miles of the world's most pristine beaches, all just minutes or an easy walk from the Inn.

Endangered plant life and wildflowers abound on Nantucket and include the Russian olive, winter berry, hawthorn tree, Rosa rugosa, the tupelo tree, pink lady's slipper orchid and Indian pipes. More than a third of the island has been protected and will never be built upon. These wild expanses are open to the public for nature walking, hiking or birdwatching. In fact, Nantucket lies on the north-south flyway of migrating birds, making it very popular with birdwatchers.
