The Inn at Southwest
Southwest Harbor, Maine.
Overlooking the serene waters of Southwest Harbor, the Inn at Southwest combines Victorian charm & gracious hospitality. The inn is within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, and the marina.
Bed and Breakfast Description

This Second Empire Victorian bed & breakfast has welcomed guests since 1884. The wicker filled wraparound porch is the perfect spot to relax and watch boats slip in and out of the harbor. Enjoy spacious, newly decorated rooms, private baths, and gourmet breakfasts. We are a three-diamond AAA inn.
Beautiful Acadia National Park is only 5 minutes from our doorstep and offers spectacular coastlines, 150 miles of hiking trails, over 50 miles of carriage roads perfect for biking and horseback riding, waters to canoe and kayak, and countless photo opportunities. Southwest Harbor is on the quiet side of Mt Desert Island, and is only 20 minutes from Bar Harbor.
Newly redecorated, all seven rooms, including two suites, have private baths, down-filled duvets, ceiling fans, and luxurious linens and towels. Several rooms have gas log stoves. Our spacious sitting room features a large fireplace, and an extensive collection of books on the local area, and plenty of games.
Many guests describe breakfast as one of the highlights of their day. A full, hot breakfast with a gourmet flair is served each morning from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. in our breakfast area or outside on our wraparound porch. Wake up to the smell of blueberry stuffed French toast, poached pears in wine sauce, crab potato bake, or blueberry apple crisp. And, we serve homemade cookies every afternoon – just what you need after a day of exploring Acadia!
