The Apple Tree Inn sits on a twenty-two acre landscaped hilltop estate in the Berkshire Hills of western Massachusetts. It is across the road from Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony.

Bed and Breakfast Description

The Main House was built in 1885 as a private residence. It has been an inn since 1937. In the 1970's it included the third and last Alice's Restaurant. It contains a large parlor with a fireplace, a tavern, the restaurant, and 13 country inn style guest rooms, including 3 suites. All rooms have private baths and wireless internet. Some of the rooms have fireplaces or mountain views.

It has a heated outdoor swimming pool with the best view in the Berkshires, and a clay tennis court. In season, dinner is served in the circular dining room or on the canopied deck, both of which have outstanding vistas. Many of the rooms share these views.

For guests of the inn, a complimentary continental breakfast of homebaked goods, coffee and juice is served 8:00AM to 10AM. A la carte breakfast is available to house guests on weekends throughout the year and daily during peak season.

The Berkshires are know as the Cultural Capital of the US. Within a short drive are venues for theater, opera, dance and many different types of music; also museums and galleries to accommodate every taste. Outdoor activities include golf, cycling, hiking, canoeing, and in the colder months, downhill and cross country skiing and snowshoeing.

Most Popular Rooms:

The Orchard (#2): A large room with a private bath, queen bed and a sitting area with chairs and sofa. It has a fireplace and a private balcony that looks out over our apple orchard.

The Bristed Suite (#8): Often used as the bridal suite. It has a king bed, private bath; a living room with convertible sofa, easy chairs, fireplace, television and a writing desk. It is very bright and looks out over the gardens.
