Down By The River B&B
St. David, Arizona.
Down By The River B&B is the "Lodging Hub" of Cochise County with many interesting sites within a short drive. The property abuts the San Pedro River one of the 5 best migratory birding ares in the US where nearly 400 species may be seen.
Bed and Breakfast Accommodations

The Santa Fe style home, built in 2005, offers views of mountains on all sides. To the east is Cochise's Stronghold, a part of the Dragoon Mountains once the refuge and now the burial place of the great Apache Chief, to the south are the Huachuca Mountains and the Tombstone Hills, and to the west are the Whetstone Mountains, home of Kartchner Caverns State Park. The 15 acre property backs up to the San Pedro River a birders Mecca.
At the end of the day, relax on the porch as the sun sets and watch the flocks of birds as they fly to their roosts for the night in the cottonwoods along the San Pedro River, while in the background, Arizona's sunset hues in purple and pinks reflecting from the Dragoon Mountains.
If you're so inclined, BBQ your dinner on the grill & watch for the local wildlife that visits the property. For amateur astronomers, the inn has a Dobsonian telescope so you can view the night skies. Look at the planets or other deep space objects in the clear dark sky.
Each room is decorated with a theme of things that are found in the area, the Mission room for the old padres, the Prospector room for the miners, the Cowboy room for the rough an tumble people that made tombstone history, and the bird room for the people that come to the area to see the migratory birds.
