 One of 66 homes listed in the National Register of Historical Places in the High Street Historic District, the Hawthorn was built in 1894 to take advantage of magnificent harbor views to the East and Mount Battie to the West. The Inn has 10 spacious and beautifully appointed guest rooms; six are in the Main House and four in the Carriage House. All rooms have private baths; four in the Carriage House have two-person Jacuzzi tubs in the baths, and two in the Main House have claw-foot Victorian soaking tubs. A short walk to town or harbor, yet removed enough to ensure restful respite from the “madding crowd,” the Hawthorn also is a spectacular venue for small, intimate weddings.
