![]() The Camden Maine Stay is a grand and historic old New England home, with a relaxed and very friendly atmosphere. The inn's two parlors have woodburning fireplaces. Highly crafted ornate iron castings form the mantel and surround the hearth in the North Parlor. Many of the rooms have original wide plank pine flooring. Oriental rugs, period furnishings and many antebellum pieces are scattered throughout the house. Guests are always welcome in the Camden Maine Stay's big country kitchen, to gather around the antique Queen Atlantic stove and discuss the days events. Area Attractions and Activities: To See: Camden Hills State Park and Mount Battie, Penobscot Bay Islands, Farnsworth Museum, Lighthouses (7), Maine Maritime Museum, Acadia National Park (75 mi.), Merryspring Nature Park, Knox Mill Museum, Fort Knox. To Do: Windjammer cruises, boating, sea kayaking, running biking, hiking, ice skating, alpine and cross country skiing, shopping and antiquing. Services: Warm spacious common areas, open kitchen, exquisite one acre garden Most Popular Rooms: The Common Ground Room: High beamed ceiling, Vermont castings gas stove, & Maine cottage furniture keep the feeling rustic. French doors lead to a private deck, which overlooks the garden. Queen bed, sitting area, TV, bath with shower & soaking tub. Carriage House Room: A favorite of travel magazine writers, very quiet, and romantic. This large room has a queen bed, lots of books, and a Vermont Castings stove. French doors open onto a lovely private stone patio that overlooks the one acre garden. |
