Charleston, South Carolina bed and breakfast: Wentworth Mansion
Built in 1886 and designed in the Second Empire style as an opulent private residence for wealthy cotton merchant Francis Silas Rodgers, the Wentworth mansion is now one of the world’s finest and most unique inns.

Step through its doors, over a century old, into a world of refinement and grace. A pristine example of America’s Gilded Age, the mansion boasts intricate woodwork, hand-carved marble fireplaces, ornate plaster ceilings and Tiffany stained glass window. Each room has been restored and furnished with antiques. All rooms have king size beds and are smoke-free.

The afternoon welcomes guests in the Harleston Lounge, the Rodgers Library provides the perfect atmosphere for reading and the sun porch offers an elegant spot for breakfast. The world-class accommodations are without equal.
