Located on Government Hill, the Inn overlooks the entire harbor of Charlotte's Amalie.

It was built in c. 1803 and was originally the barracks for the personal guard of Danish Governor vonScholten, whose residence, Crown House, is directly above us. (He was the one who freed the slaves here.)

Each guest room has a private bath, view of the ocean, air conditioning and ceiling fan, electronic safe, high speed internet hook up, cable TV, alarm clock, hair dryer, and lots of charm. Shared guest areas include the living room, dining room and covered gallery at front of house. This area has an honor bar. Swimming pool, sun deck with chaise lounges, covered sun deck with chaise lounges, and upper deck with umbrella tables at back of house. Pam serves breakfast every morning in the living room/dining room/gallery area.

Guests have their own key to the locked gate for this courtyard property. The gate opens onto Government House Steps, connecting Blackbeard's Hill above us with, going down, Government House and its garden, the historic Frederick Lutheran Church, and our oldest structure, Fort Christian, at the port. These stairs are an easy way to access the central historic district with its shopping and dining and ferry boats to St. John, St. Croix and Tortola.
