Bed and Breakfast Accommodations

Located on Government Hill, the Inn overlooks the entire harbor of Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas.

It was built in c. 1803 and was originally the barracks for the personal guard of Danish Governor vonScholten, whose residence, Crown House, is directly above us. (He was the one who freed the slaves here.)

Each guest room has a private bath, view of the ocean, air conditioning and ceiling fan, electronic safe, high speed internet hook up, cable TV, alarm clock, hair dryer, toiletries by Ecru New York, and lots of charm.

Shared guest areas include the living room, dining room and covered gallery at the front of house. This area has wireless internet access, an honor bar and lending library and a beautiful view of the harbor. Pam serves breakfast every morning in the dining room and gallery.

At the back of the house you will find more beautiful views and the swimming pool with beach towels, a sun deck with chaise lounges, a shaded deck with chaise lounges, and an upper deck with umbrella tables and picnic facilities.

Guests have their own key to the locked gate for this courtyard property. The gate opens onto Government House Steps, connecting Blackbeard's Hill above us with, going down, Government House and its garden, the historic Frederick Lutheran Church, and our oldest structure, Fort Christian, at the port. These stairs are an easy way to access the central historic district with its shopping and dining and ferry boats to St. John, St. Croix and Tortola.

While Charlotte Amalie is full of energy, St. Thomas also provides natural wonders such as the indescribably beautiful Magens Bay and stunning views of the Caribbean from 1,500 feet above sea level. Drake's Seat is particularly famous for its vistas.

Sports and activities are abundant on St. Thomas. Golf enthusiasts will enjoy the George and Tom Fazio-designed Mahogany Run course. St. Thomas is also well known for its world-class yachting and sportfishing.
