 This historical site was originally used as a tavern and way-station for travelers through Thornton's Gap. The original house faced south towards stage coach road. Today, after serving as a private home and boarding house, the Goshen House has been transformed into a bed and breakfast true to Virginian elegance. "Goshen" was often visited by soldiers during the War Between the States and these visitors were often thirsty. Mrs. Freeze, who resided there at that time, often served cold buttermilk to her thirsty visitors. This historic Shenandoah Valley and Luray Virginia B&B, was established in 1805 by the Peter Ruffner family. We offer several different guest rooms and suites. You are welcome to make yourself at home in our wine bar, in the front parlor, or play a round of pool in the Billiard Room. We also have a hot tub for guests to use, which is housed, in the old original Spring House. Goshen House B&B offers a variety of special packages to suit your needs. If you don't see something you want, please contact us and we can arrange it for you. Area Attractions and Activities: Goshen House is located in the heart of Luray, Virginia, less than a mile to the world famous Luray Caverns and ten minutes from Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park.
