An opulently restored Victorian mansion, located in San Francisco's historic Alamo Square district, Chateau Tivoli is one of the city's most charming bed and breakfast inns. Built in 1892 as a private home, and restored a century later, the Chateau Tivoli offers nine lavishly appointed rooms and suites.

Step inside to enter a world of Victorian splendor, filled with hand-carved woodwork, crystal chandeliers, period wallpapers, and oriental rugs. Charm and color are what San Francisco is all about, and there is perhaps no inn more charming or more colorful than the city's most celebrated "painted lady", the Chateau Tivoli.

Two blocks from the Chateau Tivoli you will find one of the most photographed locations in San Francisco, Alamo Square's famous "postcard row" at Hayes and Steiner Streets. A tight, escalating formation of Victorian houses is back-dropped by downtown skyscrapers, providing a stunning contrast. The grassy square itself is an ideal midday break.

Japan town with restaurants, a spa and a movie theatre is a short walk away. The Fillmore shopping district, just North of Japan town, is filled with unique and delightful boutiques, restaurants, bars, coffeshops, day spas,etc.

The legendary Fillmore Auditorium is just 4 blocks away, and in the same area you will also find a jazz club and a blues club.

The Luisa Tetrazzini Suite: The jewel of the chateau, this suite features a canopy bed from the estate of Charles De Gaulle, a private parlor with a fireplace, a marble bathroom with a double shower and elaborate papered ceilings.

The Mark Twain Suite: This grand suite has a king size mirrored canopy bed and a large private parlor with a daybed suitable for an extra person. There is sufficient room for an extra rollaway bed for larger families. Can be rented for a small reception.
