Bed and Breakfast Description

The original house was built in the 1790's with the large Greek Revival addition constructed by General Charles Borland, Jr. around 1830. In July 2006 the new "Artists' Annex" opened, offering additional accommodations for guests.

Creating an environment that welcomes friends and family is a special quality found at Borland House. Your hosts' artistic flair and their love of people combine to make your stay a relaxing one. Guests become friends.

Carol and Bill will provide a late afternoon treat on the porch, in the garden, or in the dining room. If you are lucky, Carol will bring out a fresh batch of her Black and White cookies.

Help yourself to an extensive selection of paperbacks and sink into a big wing chair in one of our public rooms. In fact, feel free to take the book with you when you check out.

For antique lovers, Pine Bush Auction and several antique shops (including Blue Shutter Antiques located in the Borland House)are within easy walking distance of the Borland House. Critically acclaimed restaurants are within 2 blocks. Many parks and walking trails are accessible from our front porch. And, of course, check out Orange County Choppers in Montgomery!

For hikers, the Mohonk Preserve offers world-class climbing and is only 30 minutes away.Visit nearby West Point, shop at Woodbury Commons, enjoy Storm King Art Center and Dia.

Most Popular Rooms:

Our gracious "Hanlon" room, with its eleven-foot ceiling, features a queen-size, four poster bed, fireplace, and sitting area. The private bath has statuary and plants. These will be a sumptuous reminder that you are here to be pampered!

The "Artists' Annex" is our new, two-bedroom private suite. One bedroom has twin beds and the other has a queen-size bed. You can reserve either room or the entire suite. The walls are filled with paintings of local artists, including those of your host!
