 The five guestrooms of The Old Point Inn are based on a theme reflected in the name given to each room. Your hosts have lived in numerous countries and have collected objects d’art from around the world. These are artistically displayed in the rooms and throughout the Inn. Relax on verandahs, nap in the hammock or just enjoy the hospitality of the Lowcountry. The Inn offers views of the Beaufort River and is easy walking distance to all that Beaufort offers. We serve a full gourmet breakfast each morning at 8.30 am. Most mornings one can catch a glimpse of boats making their way down the intra coastal waterway, listen to the chirping birds and watch the frolicking squirrels in the garden while enjoying breakfast served on the porch. Area Attractions and Activities: It is Beaufort’s rich history and scenic beauty that make it a wonderful travel destination. World-renown for its historic district, many famous movies have been filmed here including The Big Chill, Forrest Gump, Prince of Tides, Glory and The Jungle Book. Only six miles from town one can be in the heart of the Gullah culture. In addition to historical sightseeing and browsing in specialty shops and art galleries, there is golf, tennis, fishing and boating or just sunning at nearby beaches. We can arrange carriage tours, golf outings, kayaking, fishing excursions and evening sun down boat cruises. There are numerous restaurants to choose from and your hosts will be happy to make reservations for guests.
