![]() Our rustic mountain lodge is located at the edge of the Pasayten Wilderness in Washington State, and only a short distance from the North Cascades National Park. At the Mazama Country Inn our lodgings are unique. We have 18 guest rooms, each of which has a private bath (some units have showers only). Fourteen of our rooms have at least a queen size bed and four of our rooms have a king size bed with a queen size pullout couch. The rooms are warm and comfortable, with lots of wood yet airy and light. And best of all, there are no telephones or TVs in our rooms! The Inn also has a pool, sauna and an outdoor hot tub, so you can melt away the fatigue of sore muscles after a day of cross country skiing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, or any of the other myriad recreational possibilities. We have a small rental shop (with cross country skis and snowshoes in the winter and mountain bikes in the summer and fall) for those who don't bring their own equipment. And we also maintain a small gift shop that features the works and handicrafts of local artists and artisans. Our restaurant is considered one of the best in the area (ask the many locals who stop in to eat). In the summer we offer breakfast, lunch and dinner from our extensive menu. Weather permitting (and it usually does), you can enjoy your meal outside on our restaurant deck. In the winter we feature family-style dining for breakfast and dinner. Area Attractions and Activities: Summertime at the Mazama Country Inn offers many activities. The days are warm, the nights are cool, and there's very little rain. We have experts on staff to help you plan the perfect day hike (don't forget your camera, deer and marmot sightings are quite common). The Pasayten Wilderness and North Cascades National Park offer miles of trails leading to lakes, waterfalls, wildflowers and wildlife. The Inn has mountain bikes for rent, or bring your own and ride for miles on the mountain trails. If you enjoy horseback riding, we can arrange for a guided trail ride. In the winter, cross-country skiing is our specialty. We have our own ski rental shop at the Inn and our ski instructors offer tours and lessons for all abilities. Over 100 miles of groomed ski trails extend from outside our door. Try an overnight wilderness trip in the nearby hut system, or ride a helicopter to slopes of deep untouched powder snow. Guided heli-skiing is available for cross-country or downhill skiers. Services: Sitting room, outdoor hot tub & sauna, X+C ski rentals, bikes, wireless Internet Most Popular Rooms: Favorite Room: Private deck, table and chair sitting area, queen beds, private bath. Three Girls Cabin: A spectacular view of Goat Peak. The two-level home features 3 bedrooms, each with queen beds; it also includes a futon loft area. There are 2 bathrooms, one with Jacuzzi. |
