Bed and Breakfast Description

On the first floor, we have a lovely dining room where an elegant full breakfast is served each morning. Across the hall is the library where guests may visit, read, or watch TV while enjoying a wood fire.

In addition to the Inn's main home, we have a second home across the street called the Devoe House. Each suite in the Devoe House is also furnished with wonderful antiques, a very comfortable bed, and warm quilts. In addition to a private bath, each room has a sink, small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker with coffee and tea provisions.

Area Attractions and Activities:

The Rosenberry Inn is located within walking distance of the River District shops. We suggest a leisurely walk up Franklin Hill to view some of Wausau's many beautiful, historic homes. The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum is located atop the Franklin Street hill. The museum's respected wildlife art collections and ever-changing gallery shows have established it as a premiere regional art center. The Marathon County Historical Museum is also located nearby in a lovely Classical Revival house from 1900. The Grand Theatre on Artsblock, four blocks from the Inn, offers an incredible variety of stage entertainment. Five miles from the Inn is Granite Peak Ski Area at Rib Mountain State Park which boasts 73 runs, a 700-ft mountain and consistently reliable snow. Among special events to be enjoyed in Wausau are Badger State Games, Artrageous Weekend, hot air balloon rally, Big Bull Falls Blues Fest,and Exhibitour. Available within walking distance are several fine restaurants.

Rosenberry Suite: In the main room, an antique queen-size iron bed sits by the window seat and two single beds and sitting area with TV are in the adjoining room.

William: Forest green walls with pink accent separate the pine floors from the beamed ceiling. Suspended from the ceiling is a swing for two crafted from an old Jenny Lind bed, and is situated for a romantic evening by the wood-burning fireplace.
