The McConnell Inn is named for its original owner, John McConnell, who built the home for his family residence. It was completed, after two years of construction, in 1900. Over the years, the house was bought and sold several times. We bought the McConnell Inn in 1985 and opened it as a Bed and Breakfast in June, 1986.

We knew from the very start that this home would make an ideal and very cozy B&B. We have refurbished this Green Lake landmark to its Victorian grandeur - including preserving the leather wainscoting in the dining room, the hand-tooled parquet floors in the foyer and formal parlor and all of the original leaded windows.

The rockers and swing on our large front porch invite you to unwind, relax and "watch the world go by." Inside, guests enjoy reading, playing games or watching movies in our two first floor parlors.

As members of the Wisconsin Bed & Breakfast Association, Lanier Travel Guides and American Historic Inns, we maintain a high quality Inn. The McConnell Inn is known for its warmth, wonderful hospitality and delicious, homemade breakfasts.

Each morning enjoy the company of fellow travelers in the dining room, enhanced by leather wainscoting and a crystal chandelier. Wake to the aroma of pastries baking in the oven. Mary-Jo, an experienced pastry chef, prepares a full breakfast for our guests, served family style. Fresh fruit, granolas, juice and specialty coffees are served along with a variety of entrees.

If you enjoy the outdoors, Green Lake is the place for any season - offering the very best water sport action anytime of the year, also biking, hiking, birding. There are four golf courses within 15 minutes, that offer 81 holes of challenging golf
Leave the keys behind and walk just a few blocks to a variety of restaurants, most festivals and Thrasher Opera House, offering entertainment of all varieties.
Spring brings the annual city-wide garage sale and a moving Memorial Day parade & program. Summer welcomes in weekly Concerts in the Park and a farmers market. Celebrate Summer Solstice by entering howl-at-the-moon or bed race competitions. 4th of July is a day long event with games, entertainment, themed boat parade and ending in fireworks over the lake. Autumn is busy with WI State Chili Cook-Off and Harvest Fest,a 2-day extravaganza. October is officially Women's Month and also offers a Tour of Homes and From the Land Fair. Winter invites ice fishing season and holiday celebrations
