Trillium

La Farge, Wisconsin.

Trillium Country Cottage is a family farm featuring two cozy, private cottages tucked into the hills of the Kickapoo Valley in southwestern Wisconsin. A working farm with cattle, sheep, geese, chickens, friendly farm cats and organic gardens.

Bed and Breakfast Description

La Farge, Wisconsin bed and breakfast: Trillium

Located in Vernon County, we are part of Wisconsin's Hidden Valleys area. Trillium is our family farm. 85-acres of organic fields, woods and a tree-lined brook. Our farm is located in a thriving Amish farming community.

Both cottages are convenient to our farmhouse and the farm buildings, but are private, separate and out of sight of one another.

Breakfast is a favorite part of the Trillium cottage experience. It features homemade breads and local dairy products. Each morning, a variety of fresh breads, made by hand from scratch, are baked in our farmhouse kitchen. With the homemade breads, there is also a selection of homemade jams and jellies.

Breakfast is brought to each private guest cottage in a covered basket, so that guests may enjoy these along with local cheeses, butter, farm eggs, milk, cereals, fresh fruits, juice and other tasty morning treats.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Being at Trillium means that in the mornings, there are the farm sounds of the sheep, cows, geese and chickens. The songbirds begin each morning with their individual calls.

Late in the spring, there are newborn calves wandering the pasture side by side with their mothers. The chicken yard is extra busy because there are newly hatched baby chicks. And of course, there are new baby kittens every few months.

Guests can explore the hayfields and also enjoy a stroll through the 40 acres of our woods. Many wildflowers are to be seen beginning in late March and on into late October.

Spring and fall mean migratory birds overhead and the sound of their musical calls as they travel.

Winter offers the sight of much wildlife - once the snow is on the ground, it is much easier to see the deer, wild turkeys, pheasant, hawks and sometimes even eagles.
