Built in 1890 by a Vermont governor as a private residence, the inn features extraordinary slate fireplaces and eight individually decorated guestrooms, each with its own antiques, most with gas fireplaces or Vermont Castings gas stoves and cable TV. Everywhere there is an incredible attention to detail. The tree-top level Suite as well as the deluxe "Jessica's Room" both feature two-person aqua massage tubs. These guestrooms also have outstanding views of Okemo Mountain. Afternoon tea, three-course hot breakfasts, and elegant gourmet prix fixe dinners are presented on antique china with silver and crystal service. Retire to your cozy bed chamber warmed by a gas fireplace, and read or borrow a DVD or VHS movie from the inn's library. Awake to a bountiful breakfast with an ever changing menu, such as fresh fruit, pecan praline muffins, homemade granola, perhaps apple cinnamon pancakes or even our famous "Cuckoo's Nest" souffle and smoked bacon. So many wonderful choices! The Governor's Inn is a great, centrally located base from which to explore Vermont.
