From the moment you step into this historic Victorian country home, you are surrounded by gracious elegance and warm hospitality. Located on village green, one mile from Okemo Mountain. Walk to shops and restaurants.

Built in 1890 by a Vermont governor as a private residence, the inn features extraordinary slate fireplaces and eight individually decorated guestrooms, each with its own antiques, most with gas fireplaces or Vermont Castings gas stoves and cable TV. Everywhere there is an incredible attention to detail.

The tree-top level Suite as well as the superior "Jessica's Room" both feature two-person aqua massage tubs. These guestrooms also have outstanding views of Okemo Mountain.

Afternoon tea, and three-course hot breakfasts are presented on antique china with silver and crystal service.

Retire to your cozy bed chamber warmed by a gas fireplace, and read or borrow a DVD or VHS movie from the inn's library. Awake to a bountiful breakfast with an ever changing menu, such as fresh fruit, pecan praline muffins, homemade granola, perhaps apple cinnamon pancakes or even our famous Governor's Inn souffle and smoked bacon. So many wonderful choices!

The Governor's Inn is a great, centrally located base from which to explore Vermont. Don't forget to request one of Cathy's gourmet picnics (traditional wooden basket or fabric backpack) to take along!
