Aspen Hall Inn
Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Hospitality meets history in this magnificent 250-year-old inn. At the gateway to the Shenandoah Valley, 80 mi from Washington, DC. and at the hub a wide variety of activities and historic sites. Special weekly & monthly rates for extended stay guests.
Bed and Breakfast Description

This elegant mansion is one of the most historic homes in our area. The original buildings (which still stand) were part of a fortified frontier settlement known as Mendenhall's Fort. George Washington garrisoned troops here during the French & Indian War.
In 1761, during his first run for public office, our future first president attended a wedding here.
Our border state location is within easy striking distance of Civil War sites in Maryland and Pennsylvania to the north and Virginia to the south. The house was used as a hospital during the Civil War. Ten miles from Shepherdstown. 80 miles from Washington, DC.
Aspen Hall's outstanding architecture has earned it the distinction of being "one of the finest Georgian period homes in the United States". It is on the National Historic Register.
Most of the original features of the 22-room home remain. The 13 x 38 foot grand hall still has its original 40-inch board and batten doors with their large strap hinges. Built of native limestone, Aspen Hall is on seven creekside acres.
The shared breakfast room is equipped with a microwave and a refrigerator. Great coffee, fresh fruit, juice, pastry, and cereals are provided each morning.
Guests can refresh their spirits by strolling Aspen Hall's grounds while listening to the peaceful babbling of the Tuscarora Creek as it flows under the footbridge. Full body Swedish relaxation massage is available by appt with the resident Licensed Massage Therapist.
