The Highland Inn

Monterey, Virginia.

The Highland Inn, a historic Country Inn nestled in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains, is in the historic picturesque village of Monterey.

Bed and Breakfast Description

Monterey, Virginia bed and breakfast: The Highland Inn

Monterey is the county seat of Highland County, which is fondly referred to as "Virginia's Switzerland." Highland County, with its panoramic views, rolling hills, green meadows, and tumbling rivers, is "one of those places on earth where there is a spectacular meeting of the land and the sky."

The Monterey dining room features regional American cuisine prepared by Chef Lisa Jamison, and is open Wednesday for a dinner buffet and Friday and Saturday for dinner. On Sunday, a buffet brunch is served. Chef Lisa's Monthly Dinner Specials are offered on Friday and Saturday to expand the variety of our menu.

The Black Sheep Tavern offers a casual dining atmosphere, with a selection of beer and a variety of wines including a Virginia selection. The tavern is open Wednesday for a dinner buffet and Thursday through Saturday for dinner.
