This elegant, waterfront Inn was designed for guest’s privacy and relaxation. Completed in 2005 its unique furnishings, décor and numerous amenities can only be matched by the finest of hotels. All of the Black Bear’s rooms overlook the Tongass Narrows.

Bed and Breakfast Description

The Black Bear Inn is the perfect place for large gatherings, family retreats, business and fishing groups, wedding parties and other special occasions. You can rent the four- bedroom house, the one-bedroom luxury apartment,the one-bedroom Cabin Suite or one bedroom with private bath. The entire rental can accommodate up to 20 people.

Sixty-year-old Spruce and Cedars that house many different birds, boarder the properties park like setting. Multilevel decking wraps around the property, providing outstanding spots to sit back and watch wildlife, float planes, Alaska Ferries, fishing boats, world-class yachts, and cruise ships. The outdoor covered Spa and BBQ, on the waters edge, is the most romantic place to watch Ketchikan’s majestic sunsets. There is also a crab cooker, a fish smoker and a fish cleaning area for guest's to prepare their catch of the day.

The main house has four distinctive, beautifully appointed guest bedrooms with private entrances and baths, fireplaces, flat screen TV’s with DVD and VCR players, refrigerators, phones and free wireless Internet.

The Eagles Nest, a one-bedroom apartment, is on the top floor of the Inn and has it's own private entrance and covered porch. It has a kitchen, bedroom with two beds, a living room with a free standing fireplace, a bath and a laundry area.

The Bunkhouse is beside the main house and overlooking the Ocean. It is a one bedroom cabin with a fireplace, a bath and a kitchenette

While you are here we can arrange fishing charters, recreational adventures, catered meals, shopping trips, or take you on a peaceful mountain hike.

The Homestead: Our largest guest room, is on the first floor with easy access. The room has a queen size and full size bed, an award winning fireplace, a great view of the Ocean, and a private bath with a deep oversized soaking tub, shower, and two sinks

Bears Den: In the middle of the house on the first floor with easy access for those with limited mobility. The room has a queen size bed, cozy sitting area, private deck and a large private bath.
