Second Wind hosts a beautiful view of Lake Superior's Chequamegon Bay area. Our name, Second Wind, reflects just what we want for you, our guests, to experience.

Bed and Breakfast Description

We are located just minutes from downtown Ashland and the shore of Lake Superior. Second Wind has 3 suites, each with a private bath and whirlpool tub, one of which is handicap accessible.

Come enjoy a late-night bonfire, a soak in your in-room whirlpool tub, playing the many board games in our gathering room, a delicious home-cooked breakfast, the experience of the Northern Lights, a relaxing walk, bike ride, or cross country ski and sunrises and sunsets off our timber-framed decks.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Venture away from Second Wind to enjoy our area attractions, such as a ferry to the Apostle Islands, golf just minutes away at Chequamegon Bay Club, a picnic at Little Girls Point, sailing excursions, The Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center, guided fishing charters, ice fishing, sea kayaking, beach combing Lake Superior, Ashland Bicycle Corridor (just one mile from Second Wind)and right on the ATV and snowmobile trail plus much, much more!

Second Wind is a wonderful place to come in the winter. We are right on snowmobile trails and are now offering dogsledding.

Your hosts, Mark and Kelly will be happy to make arrangements prior to your arrival for many of these outings.

The Bear Den: Imagine a northwoods lodge, a canopy log bed and the most comfy engulfing chairs ever. The Bear Den has a private bath, whirlpool tub and is handicap accessible.

Cranberry Cove: An inviting whirlpool suite full of family heirlooms. Northern Lights Loft: Our large suite which can house up to 8 people has a kitchenette with fridge and microwave, a private bath and single whirlpool tub. Cozy and yet so spacious.
