The home was built between 1893-1904, and named for the original owners of record, Lt. Col. & Ms Devereaux Shields. It has been cared for over the years by only a few owners. The property includes the elegant 1893 Queen Ann Victorian main house and the charming 1873 Victorian Aunt Clara's Cottage.

Our Bed & Breakfast features 6 rooms, two beautifully appointed suite/rooms surrounded by carefully manicured gardens in the main house, and 4 spacious rooms in the cottage with heart pine floors and large veranda. Aunt Clara's Cottage is located a few steps from our main house.

Our guest rooms feature period antiques and reproduction furnishings, cable or satellite TV, central heat and A/C, WiFi, and private baths. Common areas include sitting areas for relaxing, reading and there are wonderful gardens to stroll.

The Gallery Room: Romantic grand room on top level. Opens to large private gallery overlooking garden. King-size bed with Victorian headboard, fireplace (for viewing ambiance only), comfortable Victorian seating area in turret & private bath with shower.

Aunt Clara's Cottage: Four spacious rooms in a charming 1873 Victorian with heart pine floors, large veranda, ample sitting areas and spacious breakfast and meeting room for events. Located a couple doors from the main Devereaux Shields House.

Reservation Notes:

All rates are based on single or double occupancy and are subject to MS room tax of 10%. Additional occupancy is $30/person. According to international standards cancellations or modifications require at least 7 days advance notice to avoid a room charge for the first night. No refund is issued if cancelled 3 days before check-in. A rain check may be issued for cancellations made within 7 days. A non-refundable deposit of 10% of the total or a minimum $35 is due on the date of booking. Rates include a seated plantation style breakfast, and assorted hot and cold refreshments.
