A charming small inn in the heart of beautiful downtown Gruene. The earliest part of the house pre-dates the Civil War (1840-50), with additions in 1872, and 1880. Each room, containing a queen bed, is named after a Gruene family member, and decorated appropriate to their personalities.
Twelve foot ceilings, 9' windows, wood floors and trim enhance the feeling of a step back in time. The owner is also the town historian, and will be happy to give you a brief history, or point out architectural oddities relative to the house and period during your stay. (Renovations are scheduled for the next few months to include two new bathrooms and update the existing one, so your patience will be appreciated.) We will be happy to help you celebrate special events, and make your stay a pleasant one. The entire house is available for large parties or extended stays, and can accommodate up to ten people.
Area Attractions and Activities:
Come on down and see the many things New Braunfels has to offer. Our lovely bed and breakfast is located 1 block down the hill to the Guadelupe River with rafting and tubing access. I am 1/2 block and across the street from Gruene Hall, and shopping is all around me. We have many attractions to see including the Schlitterbahn Waterpark and once a month we have Gruene Market Days, and many specialty shows. 5 restaurants within 2 blocks. Swim, Tube, Shop, Eat, visit Museum of Handmade Texas Furniture, Conservation Plaza, The Sophienburg Museum, attend Wurstfest in October, and Christmas In Gruene in December! In Spring, we sneak off to Fiesta.

Most Popular Rooms:
Ernsts' room showcases a large bay window with an 1830's turtle-topped table, and two comfortable armchairs. A daybed will sleep one or two more guests', as well as two in the queen bed. The bath features a tub/shower combination, seperate from the sink.
Hanna's room is a 2 room suite, & also sleeps 4 in 2 queen beds. The beds are separated by 8' tall pocket doors. The shower and toilet are in closets along the wall in the 2nd. room, This is a great arrangement for a family or group of ladies.
