Volcano Village welcomes you to a World Heritage Site and International Biosphere Reserve. We celebrate the primal, natural world of Hawaiian volcanoes, highlands and rainforests, and we offer sanctuary from the stress and strain of everyday life.

Volcano Mist Cottage is artfully designed with extraordinary attention to detail and constructed with great respect and reverence for the Spirits present in Hawaii: Earth, Wind, Fire and Water.

From custom cork floors to spa quality amenities, our Volcano hideaway offers premiere Volcano Village lodging. This single cottage sanctuary offers absolute peacefulness, privacy, solitude and romance. You do not hear or see any neighbors, and all the amenities are yours alone!

Listen to the sweet singing of birds long gone from the lowlands. Sleep on a cloud with multi layered bedding providing the ultimate in comfort and warmth. Soak in the forestside Temple Bath surrounded by white mists and green splendor, or shower with soft, captured rainwater indoors or out.

We are only 26 miles from Hilo, one mile from the main entrance to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and even closer to the center of Volcano Village where restaurants, art galleries, grocery stores, gas stations and the Post Office are located.

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is one mile away and the main street of Volcano Village is even closer. We offer two Trek mountain bikes for adventurous and athletic guests. The local Volcano Winery is a must-visit destination, and highland golf in the shadow of Mauna Loa is a must-do experience. Local artist galleries offer an abundance of creative handicrafts and artworks, local restaurants offer delicious "slow food" and the Akatsuka Orchid Farm displays and sells thousands of incredible orchids.

Hawaii's Big Island has spectacular contrasts...the mighty volcanoes Mauna Loa (13,679 feet) and Kilauea, lofty snow clad Mauna Kea (13,796 feet), the Kau Desert, gorgeous waterfalls, the Puna Fern Forest, and the colorful orchids of Hilo. The island grows sugar, coffee, cattle and macadamia nuts. Landmarks include Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Kealakekua Bay, Kailua-Kona, Kawaihae, Parker Ranch, and Waipio Valley.
