The main lodge has five generous guestrooms, and there are three, romantic cabins of varying sizes. A hot tub gazebo sits on the back grounds beneath the pine trees.

Each lodge room has a private bath, king bed, river rock fireplace, TV/DVD and the rate includes full breakfast.

At 6pm our 10 table restaurant opens, with outdoor tables in the warmer months. The intimate atmosphere combined with the chef's superb cuisine is the perfect ending to your romantic getaway at Black Bear Inn.

Area Attractions and Activities:

In the summer, you can relax on any of Lake Tahoe's many beautiful beaches underneath mountain ranges that hold the remnants of the previous winter's snows. Hiking is popular throughout the lake basin, and bikers can pursue anything from an easy ride on paved paths in the woods to rigorous mountain biking on mountain trails.

Vacationers can enjoy golf, tennis, inline skating, horseback riding, fishing and boat cruises on the lake. If you wish, you can spend the day visiting nearby historic sites such as Virginia City.

For the more adventurous, there are hot air balloon rides, glider rides, and seeing the lake from the vantage point of an airplane tour. In the winter there is skiing and winter festivals.

Perfect for honeymoons and anniversaries, the Snowshoe Thompson is a romantic 850 sf luxury cabin for two that has a kitchenette, living room, vaulted ceiling with log beams, three-sided fireplace and large bath with two-person Jacuzzi tub.

Fallen Leaf room: This intimate room is the most requested room in the lodge and is the only one with a sitting balcony. It features log beams in the Inulted ceiling.
