Groveland Cottage is located in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley along the Strait of Juan de Fuca on Washington's beautiful North Olympic Peninsula. Sequim offers convenient access to Olympic National Park, Dungeness Spit National Wildlife Refuge, & the ferry.

Bed and Breakfast Description

We are open year round and can accommodate special events, retreats, gatherings, and meetings in our large banquet room.

The yard consists of an acre, nearly all of which is devoted to gardens. There is a lovely gazebo in the back yard with a creek bordering the property. Fruit trees, raspberry patch, flowers everywhere. There is also an outside barbecue area available for guest use. Bird watchers are always amazed at the endless song in the yard. Coveys of quail, American Goldfinches, Purple finches, swallows on the swoop, ducks in the creek, wood peckers, humming birds, and many more visit the feeders and the gardens all year round.

We also rent vacation homes in the Sequim and Port Angeles are ideal for families or large groups. We have over 50 vacation rentals ranging from shore front houses to mountain view cottages.

Groveland Cottage was built in 1886, over 120 years ago. Mr. Seal was a local business man and merchant in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley, and with his wife raised three daughters in this impressive home. Mr. Seal added the "Great Room" when his wife and daughters sailed to England in the early 1900's as a surprise for them when they returned. Simone Nichols the current owner purchased the home in 1987 being the fifth owner. Simone has updated the house to accommodate the bed and breakfast traveler. All the bedrooms now have their own bath. As much of the original decor as possible has been saved.

With your bike you can experience the Olympic Discovery Trail from Sequim to Port Angeles. Kayak from one of the local boat launches or public beaches and tour Sequim or Dungeness Bay. Golf one of the three lush golf courses. View our many species of birds with or without your binoculars.

Most Popular Rooms:

Mr. Seal's Room: This room is on the corner of the Inn so the windows look to the North and to the East. The private bath is our newest and features a six foot jetted tub. This room has the best water view of the Strait of Juan De Fuca.

The Secret Room: Our detached and secluded cottage has a queen size bed and a double size hide-a-bed. The room also has a microwave, refrigerator, and kitchen sink. The private bath is equipped with a shower. Located next to our beautiful gardens.

All cancellations are subject to a $75 cancellation fee. All cancellations within one month of check-in are subject to a 50% refund.
