 If you like the feel of colonial villages, you will like us. The original pine floors, stone fireplace and the antique furnishings, combine with the slanted ceilings to surround you with a 'days gone by' experience. Even the taps in our guest bathrooms were carefully chosen to look like water pumps so that the ambience is maintained. Our summer guests enjoy birdwatching from our deck or shaded flag stone patio while they sip their morning coffee. Some choose to make use of our large pool while others prefer to fish from our banks. Winter visitors can cozy up to their own fireplace or enjoy the option to control the heat thermostat in their suite. Further description is best left to our guests' impressions... 'I make sure everyone I know hears about River Ridge. I have put your brochures and business cards in our guest bedroom here in PEI for when our out-of-province (i.e. Albertans) show up here. When I am in the SW Ontario area, I will only stay at your B&B if available..no matter which room! Your demonstration of hospitality EXCEEDS anything else I have encountered in all the B&B's I have stayed in over the years and across Canada! Welcoming, warm, inviting, beautiful and gracious decor, prompt attention to all guests' requests, fabulous breakfasts, etc., I feel so fortunate to have discovered you both and your lovely home.' Area Attractions and Activities: We are close to many amenities, restaurants, golf courses, canoe outfitters, shopping centers and even a casino are all within a short driving distance. We are only 20 minutes to Brantford or Cambridge. We are also considered close to the Hamilton airport for those who are heading southwest in Ontario. We offer romantic getaways with hiking, moonlight raft rides, cycling, or golfing options, to name a few. Our farmhouse is also a favourite with families who want a mini holiday. Our largest suite offers privacy for Mom and Dad while they take you to African Lion Safari or to any of our area museums. Alexander Graham Bell and many aboriginal points of interest are close to us. Women's groups such as scrapbookers like us since we are close to Mary Maxim's and have a large common room with many tables that make a working weekend getaway a fun reality. If you like horses, we offer terrific scenary as our mares are visible from most windows; even from some of our ensuite bathrooms. Services: In-ground pool, hot tub, deck, sitting room, bicycles, library, DVD/VHS movie library, games, etc. Most Popular Rooms: The Pinery: Pine accents in this large suite offer comfort and ambience-cannonball queen bed, cheval mirror, bathroom walls, sleigh table and fireplace to name a few. The pullout couch, desk, benches etc. are there for guests to enjoy. Great view too! The Master's Den: A very large main floor room with Ioads of charm and full bath. A comfortable queen size bed and unique furnishings make a stay in this room an experience to be remembered. Even includes a door to your own eco garden with pool access |
