Britta's Inn B&B

Astoria, Oregon.

Lovingly restored over the past several years, the Inn is registered in the National Historic Districts, and is an Historic Landmark. Centrally located in Astoria, on the N.W. Oregon coast, this rare beauty captures early 1900's "Arts and Crafts" design.

Bed and Breakfast Description

Astoria, Oregon bed and breakfast: Britta's Inn B&B

Britta's Inn, a 1914 "Craftsman", was designed by renowned architect John Wicks, who, fortunately, cancelled his passage on the Titanic.

Cozy up to the fireplace or view the garden through the bay window. Admire the 15' tall camellia and rhododendrons on fern hill. Azaleas and an 80-year-old wisteria compete for your gaze. Walk into the sunroom for the full view and enjoy its light and airy feel.

Designed for elegant comfort, this lovely living room, the "salon", will ease tension and strain. Recline in the chair or relax on the couch in front of the fireplace... or, if you must keep connected, use the high-speed internet.

A full breakfast is provided, created with the finest, organic ingredients. Britta's prides itself on a natural, healthy fare, with a delicate presentation. Breakfast times are flexible, with fresh fruit, muffins, scones, juices, tea and coffee. Other offerings include frittata, Belgian waffles or Rona's Swedish pancakes!

Enjoy breakfast in the classic Craftsman dining room, with its burled fir walls and leaded windows, or in the sunroom, overlooking the garden and fern hill. On a warm day, enjoy the garden patio.

Complimentary bottled water, fruit, cookies, and tea available throughout the day.

For your enjoyment, we have a collection of classic and contemporary DVDs; including movies made in the area, and Oregon literature.

Because Britta's Inn B&B has only 2 guest rooms, it is perfect lodging for 2 couples traveling together.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Britta's Inn, overlooking the Columbia River, is located in one of Astoria's original, historic neighborhoods, just a five to ten minute walk to downtown, the Liberty Theatre, fine restaurants, historic homes, the River Walk Trail, free shuttles to Fort Clatsop, the wonderful Maritime Museum, and within a twenty minute walk to the Astoria Column!

Astoria is the oldest town west of the Rockies, originally settled by fur traders working for John Jacob Astor.

The 2005-2006 winter marked the bi-centennial of the Lewis and Clark Expedition reaching the Pacific Ocean.

All of this and at one of the Country's most unique and aesthetic areas; at the mouth of the Columbia River. Watch the sandbar pilots guide shipping past the sandbar, listen to seals bark in the afternoon, enjoy the beauty of the bridge, or peruse the many shops along the waterfront.

For your get-away or special celebration, enjoy historic Astoria and our beautiful historic 1914 Craftsman home.
