Located in a beautiful 1898 Queen Anne filled with elegant Victorian antiques and Southern hospitality, Rose Hall is adjacent to the University of South Carolina in Columbia's premier historic district, University Hill. Our guests love to stroll this delightful neighborhood on the National Historic Register—known for its striking homes and gardens.

Freshly baked cookies served with sweet tea or lemonade in the summer and hot mulled cider or hot chocolate during the winter will welcome you to our home. And, find a special sweet treat in your beautiful room featuring antiques, romantic fireplaces, king or queen beds and private baths, and many modern conveniences.

During your visit, feel free to curl up in front of the fireplace in our Victorian parlor with one of the books from our library, relax on our spacious front porch filled with wicker, ferns, flowers and an old-fashioned swing, or step into our Charleston-style garden.

Awaken to delicious full breakfasts and great coffee served in our elegant dining room or, if you desire, in the privacy of your own room. In the evening, we invite you to enjoy our Amaretto liqueur.

Area Attractions and Activities:

The Columbia area is a veritable hot spot for antiquing, and Marta is very familiar with the best shops. Columbia is noted for its many fine golf courses, and public tennis courts abound.

Lake Murray, just thirty minutes away, is a mecca for water sport enthusiasts, and the majestic trees and inviting trails of the Congaree Swamp National Monument are only twenty miles from Rose Hall. Canoeing, rafting, and kayaking on the Congaree River can be arranged with a local provider.

Garden Rose Room: Overlooking our Charleston garden, this spacious room features an elegant, ornately carved mahogany four poster king bed with canopy. Relax on the daybed or the damask-covered chaise lounge with a good book from our library.

Frazier Rose Room: A canopied mahogany four poster queen bed is the centerpiece of the Frazier Rose. An antique mantel graces the decorative fireplace of this large room, and a plush Aubuson style rug invites you to kick off your shoes.
