Bed and Breakfast Accommodations

Built by the Ripley family, their three daughters– Della Rose, Melissa, and Edith lived in the home until the 1950s. Following years of private ownership as well as housing apartments and offices, the home was moved to it’s present location and lovingly restored in 1995.

Area Attractions and Activities:

The Midland Railway is just a few minutes away. Enjoy an old-fashioned train ride in the countryside. Search for antiques in our downtown shops, or tour the campus of Baker University, the oldest college in Kansas. Our community is full of history, so take a walking or driving tour and visit the wagon ruts created by stagecoaches on the Santa Fe Trail and the location of the Battle of BlackJack. On the campus of Baker University visit the Sproxton English chapel, which was disassembled and shipped from England to Baldwin City where it was reconstructed in 1996. While on campus visit the Old Castle museum, erected in 1858 as the temporary home for Baker University.

Lawrence, Kansas, home of the University of Kansas, is only a beautiful 15 minute drive away with a multitude of restaurants, unique shops and museums near the campus.
