Here, you set the pace; wake up with us for a delicious lowcountry breakfast, go birdwatching on the Black River, and take a walk back in time on this authentic rice plantation. You can almost hear the steamboats churning up the river and the children playing in the School House. Our newly renovated suites are located in three guest houses on the property. Each room has its own unique character; choose one that fits you best! All are within short walking distance from each other and from the main house. Follow the links below to explore each one of our wonderfully appointed rooms. As early as 1729, Georgetown was a busy seaport, with cargo ever flowing down-river on barges and flats. Imports and exports created wealth beyond imagination, and by the middle of the 18th century, Georgetown County grew to be the second largest rice culture in the world. Today, Georgetown, S.C. is steeped in rich history, with a quaint town square and beautiful surrounding neighborhoods, plantations and landscapes. Area Attractions and Activities: Georgetown, South Carolina and the surrounding cities of Charleston, Pawley's Island and Myrtle Beach offer a plethora of attractions, from spas and fine dining to beaches, festivals and golf. On the plantation grounds: small boat ramp, fishing, hiking, canoeing, bicycles, kayaking, sailing, water skiing, bird watching. In Georgetown: premiere golf on numerous courses, deep sea fishing, numerous beaches, surfing, sailing, hunting, day spas/wellness centers.
