 Enjoy a Hawaiian breakfast from your room, and let the emerald green forest canopy, the sounds of river rapids, and the songbirds soothe your cares away in this Big Island Paradise. The Emeraldview Guesthouse offers guests their choice of The Orchid Falls Room with a wonderful view of the waterfalls or The Ginger Falls Room with a view of the sun spotlighting the banana trees, fragrant wild white ginger, stately albesia trees and the rushing river in the morning. Both rooms have an en suite bath in river stone, slate, marble, and granite. Our Tropical breakfast includes Kona plantation coffee, fresh fruits from the Hilo Farmer's Market or picked from our own garden, & home-made banana or coffee cake, all served directly to your room. Area Attractions and Activities: The summit of Mauna Kea on the Island of Hawaii hosts the world's largest astronomical observatory, with telescopes operated by astronomers from eleven countries. The Kilauea Volcano - The Pu`u `O`o-Kupaianaha eruption of Kilauea, now in its nineteenth year and 58th eruptive episode, ranks as the most voluminous outpouring of lava on the volcano's east rift zone in the past five centuries. The Merrie Monarch Festival Hula Competition is the premier hula competition held annually in Hilo, Hawaii. The Merrie Monarch Festival is a week-long cultural event held annually in Hilo on the island of Hawaii (also known as the "Big Island"). Festivities start on Easter Sunday and culminate with the hula competition. Ginger Falls Room features two beds (One Queen and One Full-size) covered with Hawaiian quilts, lots of blankets for cool nights, big stuffed pillows and cable TV for catch up. The bathroom is new: the floor & wainscoting are granite with marble diamonds. |
