Washington is in Wilkes County and is located approximately 90 minutes from Atlanta and 45 minutes from Athens and the University of Georgia and Augusta, home of the famous Augusta Nationals and the Augusta Mall.

You'll find plenty of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors in and around Washington-Wilkes. State parks offer both natural beauty and historic treasures, giving your the perfect setting for camping, hiking, and picnicking. The area is rich in wildlife, and nearby Clark Hill/Thurmond Lake provides a beautiful backdrop for a day of fishing or boating.
