Bed and Breakfast Description

A warmly appointed hotel, the Narrow Gauge Inn is a comfortable home away from home and an excellent base for all your Yosemite adventures. Be sure to keep your eyes open for wildlife as raccoons, bears, squirrels and numerous birds all call this area home.

The grounds offer a seasonal pool and hot tub, nature trail, and gift shop. Our seasonal restaurant offers fine dining in a lodge atmosphere, with majestic Sierra views.

Our 26 rooms offer mountain views, private decks, and old fashioned charm to ensure your stay is memorable and relaxing. All rooms have a private bath, TV, telephone and coffeemaker. A continental breakfast is included. Some rooms are pet-friendly.

Great fires of pine, cedar and oak warm our guests as they dine on the area's finest Black Angus filets, fresh seafood and succulent chicken. Our delectable dessert tray is sure to entice you with the richest pastries, ice cream and pies. Lively spirits, ales, and fine wines are served in our Buffalo Bar under the watchful eyes of big game bison and elk.

The Narrow Gauge Inn is a unique setting for functions of all sizes. With many locations at your disposal we are able to accommodate your group in style and comfort. Nestled in the woods, we offer several locations for wedding ceremonies, for an intimate group of 12 or up to 80 guests. Our dining room can be transformed into separate meeting rooms for privacy and has wireless internet access. Our chef will prepare a custom menu to accommodate your needs.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Yosemite National Park is located just 4 miles north. Marvel at the view of El Capitan, one of the largest blocks of exposed granite in existence and 8,842 foot tall Half Dome which looks as if it has been chopped in half with an ax. Many impressive waterfalls and an alpine wilderness are ready to be discovered. Time to the South Gate is approximately 10 minutes.

Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad offers historic steam train excursions daily in season. A steam train excursion through Lewis Creek Canyon featuring all the sights and sounds of an historic mountain railroad. Museum, Moonlight specials and Gold Panning. A short walk.

The nine hole Wawona Golf Course was designed in 1918 by famed architect Walter Fovargue and offers a Par 35 course surrounded by evergreen meadows. Eight miles. The eighteen hole Sierra Meadow golf course is located in Oakhurst. Fifteen miles.

Hiking, biking, fishing, waterfalls, white water rafting, horseback riding, historic gold rush town all nearby.

Most Popular Rooms:

Mission Suite: This is our most popular room and is quite large. It has a king size bed and a trundle day bed plus two bathrooms (one with a claw foot tub), high beam ceilings, TV, VCR, refrigerator, A/C, balcony with forest views. Sleeps a maximum of 5.

King Rooms: These rooms each have their own balcony with a table and 2 chairs.They are located throughout the property and have various views.
