Bed and Breakfast Description

Our 150 year old inn is elegant yet tranquil and informal, featuring rich architectural details. All of our 14 guest rooms have been recently redecorated and are furnished with country antiques and reproductions. Each room has a private bath, cable television, air conditioning and telephone.

This lovely corner of Litchfield Hills, Connecticut, offers great antiquing, streams, lakes, waterfalls, hiking, and all the relaxation one could want. The town of New Milford, nestled in the Litchfield Hills has the longest Green in New England, lined with shops, old houses and churches. Antique stores are only minutes away.

There are eight rooms in the main house, a two room cottage suite attached to the main house, plus six rooms in the adjacent Treadwell House. All rooms have been recently redecorated and are furnished with country antiques and reproductions. Each guestroom has a private bath, color television, air conditioning, and telephone.

Mix friendly conversation with hearty continental breakfast while relaxing in the living room or front porch of our 148 year-old Inn, overlooking the Village Green.

We serve a hearty continental breakfast which you can enjoy in our dining room, living room or the front porch overlooking the Village Green. Our Breakfast buffet includes fruit juices, English muffins, cereals, hearty bread, muffins, yogurts, cheeses, jams, coffee, espresso and teas.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Outdoor attractions in our area include Candlewood Lake, Lake Waramaug, the Housatonic River, the Shepaug River, Lake Lillinonah, the Appalachian Trail, and several parks. The towns of Roxbury, Woodbury, Litchfield and Kent all host many fine antique stores and shops.

The town of New Milford has summer theater, year round theater, concerts on the green in August, and many fine shops and restaurants. This is an area rich in history; explore early American homes, museums and historical sites.

Within minutes of the inn are several lakes, a golf course, hiking trails and antique shops. New Milford also boasts wonderful restaurants, several of which are within walking distance. Come stay with us to be in the center of it all!

Most Popular Rooms:

Room 24: A tastefully decorated queen room that is bright and has a large bay window offering a view of well manicured lawns and the top of the Village Green. This room offers a small sitting area, desk and WiFi access. Free Internet wireless available.

Room 3: A quiet, tastefully decorated room on the first floor, offering a king size bed, sitting area and desk.
