 Working fruit orchard, private fish pond, adjoins G.W. Forest. The property is located near the end of a state maintained road and up the mountain. Enjoy the peacefulness, quiet and solitude... The Cottage is isolated - no people and no phone. Supplied with a 25" TV, which receives only ABC with a VCR. We also have a large collection of tapes for viewing. A radio which plays cassettes and CD's is available. All linens and towels are furnished. A washer and dryer is located in the basement. Deer and turkey are usually seen or heard on the property. Good hiking and birding on the property and nearby. Guided tours on the property may be arranged. We provide food supplies for two mornings, which includes homemade bread and an 8 oz. jar of jam of your choice, a dozen eggs, package of bacon, milk, butter, cereal, coffee and tea. We do not do the cooking. Cottage is supplied with all necessary cooking and eating implements for preparing major meals, also have charcoal grill. Kitchen has stove, microwave, 20 cubic foot refrigerator, several types of coffee makers, and toasters. Payment by check or cash only! Brochure with rates and map available. Area Attractions and Activities: Appomattox Historic Park (where Lee surrendered to Grant), Monticello, Poplar Forest and Ashlawn (homes of Presidents Jefferson & Monroe), Wintergreen Ski Resort, Crabtree Falls & Appalachian Trail, hiking, Blue Ridge Parkway, orchards & vineyards.
