De Bruce Country Inn on the Willowemoc

De Bruce, New York.

In the Catskill Forest Preserve, with its trails, wildlife, & famous trout stream, our turn-of-the-century inn offers superb dining overlooking the valley.

Bed and Breakfast Description

De Bruce, New York bed and breakfast: De Bruce Country Inn on the Willowemoc

Guests experience unpretentious but heartfelt hospitality, the offerings of a gifted chef, and all the amenities of a lovingly and authentically restored turn-of-the-century country hostelry.

The visitor is welcomed into this 19th Century Federal-style building through French Doors, past the parlor with its fieldstone fireplace, comfortable antique chairs and couch, and library collection. Original art is featured in regular exhibitions of contemporary artists from May through December.

After a day of fly-fishing, touring, viewing fall foliage, enjoying the pool, relaxing in the whirlpool or sauna, hiking in the woods, or just lounging on the front porch, you may enjoy an Apple Toddy at the Dry Fly lounge, followed by fresh trout you caught in the Willowemoc prepared at Ianine's Restaurant.

The formal dining room with its long-leaf yellow pine floors, coffered ceiling, display of small artifacts and antique tools, its silk drapes, and white Picasso china is ideal for a wedding or special event. Summer dining on the terrace allows full enjoyment of the fresh air, bird songs and views of the valley and the mountains beyond.

There is a fly-fishing museum nearby, covered bridges, and the many outdoor activities of the state park. Local antique and gift shops and outlet malls offer interesting resources for bargain and gift hunters.
