![]() The Thorp House Bed and Breakfast welcomes travelers in every season. We offer our guests the opportunity to surround themselves with the authentic atmosphere of a bygone era -- amidst the natural beauty of Door County. McCall's Magazine calls us one of "The Most Charming Inns in America." We were also the inspiration for author LaVyrle Spencer's best-selling book, "Bittersweet." Our gracious guest rooms have been carefully furnished in fine antiques and accessories, documentary wallcoverings, authentic lighting and European lace to re-create romantic periods of the past. A double parlor with fireplace, library and summer sitting porch are available to our guests. Our pantry is stocked with complimentary soft drinks, coffee, tea and cookies. The atmosphere of Thorp House Inn is warm, relaxed and friendly. We would like our guests to think of the Thorp House as "their house" in Door County. Each of our six Wisconsin cottage rentals, all very neat and cozy, has two bedrooms and sleeps four people comfortably. Most have wood-burning fireplaces and are decorated in country antiques. Each has a fully-equipped kitchen including microwave, bath with shower, shower and tub or whirlpool, living/dining area, cable TV, VCR, and charcoal grills. All of the cottages have decks and some have a view of the bay. All come equipped with dishes, pots and pans, coffeepot, toaster, utensils and all bed linens. Towels are not provided. Area Attractions and Activities: Thorp House Inn and Cottages are perched on a hill and backed by a wooded bluff overlooking the harbor and center of Fish Creek, just one block from the main street. There you will find shops, restaurants, a bakery, deli, bicycle and ski rental and much more. Step across the street to the harbor area, beach and park. The village of Fish Creek is located at the edge of Peninsula State Park, where you can picnic, bicycle, hike in the woods or at water's edge. The park also features an 18-hole golf course. During the winter months, Peninsula State Park offers some of the country's finest cross-country skiing. A stay at the Thorp House Inn or cottages provides you with the convenience of being within walking distance of all the activity, yet our Bluff Lane location offers quiet and seclusion at the end of your active day. Services: Sitting room with fireplace, bikes rental near, fireplaces, library, X-C skiing, whirlpools Most Popular Rooms: Emma: A luxurious ceiling-to-floor canopy, with side curtains, surrounds an ornately carved queen size bed.
