Greencrest Manor was constructed as the private home for one of Battle Creek's most prominent residents. George R. Burt, son of Michigan lumber baron Wellington R. Burt, came to Battle Creek to pursue a business career. He and his new wife, Nellie Zinn from Lafayette, Indiana, vowed to build a home on their favorite picnic spot overlooking St. Mary's Lake. Greencrest Manor is available for receptions and catered banquets. Its spacious rooms and grounds accommodate up to 150 guests, and its elegant decor and four working fireplaces make it ideal for wedding receptions, anniversary dinners, and cocktail parties. Area Attractions and Activities: Kellogg Forest and Bird Sanctuary, Historic Marshall, MI for architecture, dining, and shopping. Two exceptional 18-hole golf courses are located nearby. Marywood Golf Club is directly across the street and the Bedford Valley Golf Course is five minutes away. Both courses are open to the public.
