Much larger and more accommodating than a typical Portsmouth Bed and Breakfast, each of the Sise Inn's 34 guest rooms and suites is uniquely decorated with period furnishings and reproductions. Each room and suite includes a private bath and amenities.

Bed and Breakfast Description

It was the ideal site for the influential Queen Anne style home of John E. Sise (1830-1898), a successful merchant and prominent Portsmouth businessman. Today, the Sise Inn is one of the finest hotels in Portsmouth, reigning over a restored Haymarket Square and sharing its rich historical legacy with guests from around the world.

Upon entering the Inn, you will immediately notice the gleaming grandeur of the front foyer and its magnificent butternut staircase. The beauty of its 19th century architecture has been completely restored to grand style throughout the Inn; original woodwork, elegant antiques and period reproductions recall the graciousness of Victorian life.

Each room and suite includes private bath, hairdryer, telephone, television and VCR (some suites offer DVD players instead), iron and ironing board. Although most areas of the Inn are "non-smoking," we have several "smoking-permitted" guest rooms.

In addition to our comfortable guest rooms and suites, the Sise Inn has three generous function rooms that offer a welcome alternative to other hotels in Portsmouth, NH. Private enough for a serious business meeting, these beautifully appointed rooms are also perfect for a special social affair. Our on-site function coordinator will personally assist you with menu design, broadband and audio/visual needs for teleconferencing, electronic presentations or whatever individual attention is required to ensure the success of your event.

Most Popular Rooms:

Executive Suites: Larger rooms with a sitting area and a few can accommodate up to four guests. Each offers a queen bed. Options available are whirlpool bathtubs or queen sized sofa beds.

Executive Rooms: Designed for one or two occupants. Each one offers a queen, a full, or two twin sized beds. Desks available in certain rooms.
