Just 20 feet from the main Inn, but privately apart, The Summer Kitchen Cottage is ideal for both romantic getaways and for families with children. The former cookhouse (C. 1824) for the tavern has been converted into a two-story room with brick floor, woodburning stove and a fireplace in the living room.
The property is more than 1/4 mile deep and goes gently uphill to a gazebo with 270 degree mountain views. All rooms have private baths, individually controlled heat and air conditioning. Some rooms have fireplaces and private access to the porch.

The central location of The Inn at the Crossroads allows guests to visit Charlottesville's art galleries, museums, theaters, and antique shops. Take a tour of historic downtown Charlottesville or enjoy the Dogwood Festival, Garden Week, the Albemarle County Fair or the Foxfield Steeplechase.
For sports enthusiasts there is canoeing and tubing on the James River, skiing, tennis, golf, and hiking in the nearby mountains. There is a CCC trail starting just a couple of hundred yards from the Inn. Also, the Appalachian Trail, Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive are just minutes away.
Nearby historic attractions include Monticello, Ash Lawn-Highland - home of President James Monroe, Montpelier - home of President James Madison, Historic Michie Tavern.

The Tavernkeeper's Suite: Consists of two rooms, one the original Tavern and the other the sleeping quarters for the Tavernkeeper and his family. Living room, king bedroom and private bath with tub/shower.
The Mary Sutherland Room: Has glorious sunset views of the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Queen bed and a private bath with shower.
