Bed and Breakfast Description

In the summer, the Outpost bursts with fabulous wildflowers and gardens. Guests put our horseshoes, volleyball, putting green, and open fire pit to good use. The hammock by our babbling brook is perfect for naps and reading.

Summer sends guests to Pole Creek Golf Course just around the corner or to music festivals, the rodeo, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, boating, horseback riding, river rafting and kayaking, or off exploring Rocky Mountain National Park!

Spring and fall are two of the best times to visit the Outpost. The air is crisp, with a silkiness not experienced at any other time of year, the crowds are gone and kids are in school. Spring is the best time for river rafting and fall is the best time for elk bugling and viewing the spectacular autumn leaves. Spring and fall are both excellent times to enjoy a Rocky Mountain vacation with the Outpost’s special travel packages. We are well known for our fall-Murder Mysteries, Hot Springs Getaways, Horse Drawn Wagon Dinner Packages, and Romantic Runaways.

In the winter, guests can experience world-class skiing at Winter Park. You might choose the thrills of skiing The Divide at Berthoud Pass or try out the gentler slopes of Sol Vista. Plan to take a day for dog sledding, a hot air balloon tour, snowmobiling, or snow shoeing.
