Bed and Breakfast Description

Waitsfield, Vermont bed and breakfast: 1824 House Inn

The barn, built circa 1870, is an original New England style post and beam. The renovated interior provides over 1500 square feet of open space for wedding and civil union receptions, dinners, dances and events.

There’s a wide-open field for some awesome sledding, and direct access to the Mad River Trail, which provides miles of free cross-country skiing and walking.

Spring, summer, and fall provide us with treed lawn areas, a terraced formal garden area abundant with perennials and annuals, and an excellent swimming hole with canoe and kayak portage. Come sit in our custom Adirondack furniture on the front lawn, basking in the sunshine, enjoying life at a much slower, relaxed pace.
