Bed and Breakfast Description

Astoria, Oregon bed and breakfast: Astoria Inn

In the morning, gather with other guests and enjoy a delectable breakfast. Mickey loves to cook! You could experience one of her many creative dishes such as: Grand Marnier French toast, a crab quiche or Dutch babies, not all on the same day of course.

The Astoria Inn Bed and Breakfast in Astoria, Oregon is located on a hillside of a residential neighborhood overlooking the beautiful Columbia River on the edge of a lush, dense forest. The house was built in 1890 as a private residence by Olie Haren, a fine Norwegian fellow.

Though the setting is very quiet, you can at times hear the soothing sounds of the foghorns on passing ships, or the barking of the sea lions enjoying their playtime on the piers skirting the river.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Trolley ride, hiking, antiquing, good restaurants and shopping.

Just up the street from the inn is the Cathedral Tree trail, a wonderful walk leading to a giant spruce. For the more adventurous you can continue into the woods and hike to the Astoria Column.

The Column is one of Astoria's famous landmarks erected in 1926 depicting the westward movement of discovery in a pictorial frieze, or you can choose to drive. Either way, it is a must see because of the beautiful panoramic views of oceans, rivers and mountains.

Services:

Veranda overlooks the Columbia River, sitting room, cable TV

Most Popular Rooms:

Cape Lookout: Deep red walls, antique furnishings, flowers and panoramic views of the Columbia River.

Cape Virginia: Sets the stage for a romantic escape, with a palette of deep greens and mauves. A lacey, whimsical canopy crowns the bed. This room is often requested because of its deep clawfoot tub.
