Bed and Breakfast Description

Springfield, Kentucky bed and breakfast: 1851 Historic Maple Hill Manor B&B

Rediscover romance at this beautiful, historic 1851 Greek Revival plantation home. Built on tranquil farmland in the heart of Kentucky's bluegrass region. Spacious guest rooms are antique-appointed, offering large extra-padded beds, designer linens, and private baths. Premium rooms include a double Jacuzzi and/or fireplace. Due to the historic nature of the home and the comfort of all guests, smoking is only permitted outside the home.

Its colorful past includes stories of an Antebellum plantation, use as a Civil War hospital, the childhood home to Phil Simms - former NY Giants quarterback and Super Bowl XXI's MVP, a popular dinner hall, and children's home. Today it is an award-winning bed & breakfast, wedding/special events showplace, Alpaca & Llama farm, and handcrafted gift gallery.

The centerpiece of the dining room is a mural that was hidden under wallpaper for years. The mural depicts the house as it appeared in 1851. There is ample seating for guests around the main table that extends to ten feet long for breakfast, normally served between 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. unless other arrangements have been made.

Enjoy the Grand Parlor, filled with beautiful antique furnishings and various items in which to be entertained. You'll relax in front of the wood-burning fireplace, enjoy movies on satellite TV/VCR/DVD, play an assortment of games and puzzles, read a variety of books and magazines, or gather around the baby grand piano for a sing-along.

Area Attractions and Activities:

This working farm is set on 14 tranquil acres in the heart of Kentucky's scenic bluegrass region, an hour southeast of Louisville and an hour southwest of Lexington. The home is considered one of the best preserved Antebellum Plantation homes in the Commonwealth.

In 1987, the City of Springfield completed a renovation of the downtown area, which saw Main Street reconstructed. This gave the city a central business district, which any community would be proud of. Decorative antique lights adorn the road, wide sidewalks welcome shoppers to a variety of shops and stores. Trees and planters compliment the setting for the down home touch.

he City of Springfield’s Opera House is home to a welcome center, crafts market, and economic development offices. Springfield/Washington County Economic Development Authority, Springfield Main Street Program and the Chamber of Commerce are all conveniently located on the first floor of the Opera House.
