A stay at the 1880 Seafield House Bed & Breakfast in the picturesque town of Westhampton Beach on Long Island is like a visit to a dear friend. "Everyone is treated in a special way," says innkeeper Elsie Coolins. "I want each guest to feel at home." In surroundings as inviting as this, it would be difficult not to.

Inside the rambling house, heirlooms and treasured antiques blend with colorful patchwork quilts and bouquets. From the book-filled library, where guests may take afternoon tea, to the cozy dining room, there's no doubt that this is a personal setting designed to delight.

Three generous-sized suites welcome visitors year-round. Each features little extras - embroidered pillowcases, Godiva chocolates, sumptuous towels - that have brought the Inn a long list of faithful fans. Charming in the cold seasons when the fireplace and potbelly stove blaze, the 1880 House is equally alluring in warm weather, with both a swimming pool and a tennis court.

When it's time to end your visit, Elsie will send you off with a homemade goodie as sweet as 1880 House itself.

1880 Seafield House B&B also features a Carriage House accommodating 3 people only a short walk to the beach.

The Village of Westhampton Beach is located on the scenic south shore of Long Island, in the eastern end of Suffolk County approximately 78 miles from midtown Manhattan.

Westhampton Beach proper is the center of activity in the Greater Westhampton Beach area, with a top-notch school system, trendy, sophisticated shops, a super-market, many outstanding restaurants, a twin first-run movie theater and the wonderful Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center for entertainment, and beautiful ocean beaches, one of which, at Rogers Pavilion, is regularly cited as one of the top 15 in the world. On the spiritual side, there is Saint Mark's Episcopal Church, the Beach Methodist Church, The Hampton Synagogue and, just across Turkey Bridge or the Cranberry Marsh causeway in Quiogue, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Westhampton Presbyterian Church.
