Styled in the tradition of grand plantation homes of the eighteenth century! The Virginia Cliffe Inn is nestled among the trees in Glen Allen, 12 miles north of Richmond, Virginia.

Bed and Breakfast Accommodations

The spacious guest rooms, each with private bath, are individually decorated. Each room has a TV/VCR. The furnishings, decorations and old fashioned quilts will remind you of times gone by.

In the winter you can sip spiced tea in front of the fireplace in the wood-paneled den. In the summer you can sit in the back yard overlooking the rose garden and enjoy a cool drink.

The Inn and the spacious gardens are a lovely location for weddings and receptions - inside or out. The grounds include flower gardens with a fountain, a waterfall, and a pond with a beautiful swan and ducks. Many brides choose our charming gazebo for the site of their wedding.

On the grounds we have a meeting house suitable for rehearsal dinners, business meetings and seminars. Scheduled weddings are often combined with accommodations for family, guests and the wedding party.

A light breakfast is served each morning at 7 a.m. for early risers and a full breakfast follows at 8:30 a.m. with a large selection of home cooked food.

The foyer has a new look. Mica from Italy has been plastered on the wall, giving the wall a unique visual experience. The ceiling features a fresco, painted by the owner's son, James. The dining room features a mural blended with existing wall paper. James Cliff was the artist.

We are a major venue for weddings. Facilities up to 200 people for wedding parties.

Area Attractions and Activities:

The Virginia Cliffe Inn is one mile east of Meadow Farm - a living history museum of the 1800s. Ten minutes from Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens featuring exotic gardens with foreign species as well as local plants. Fifteen minutes from Kings Dominion theme park. The Museum of Fine Arts, The Science Museum of Virginia, The Virgina State Capitol, The Museum of the Confederacy, riverfront Shockoe Bottom are all located nearby the Inn.

Most Popular Rooms:

The Margaret Aurelia Suite: Features a queen canopy bed, private bath, balcony and sitting room with sleeper sofa. This room has been remodeled with individual climate control. New hardwood floor has been installed.

The Virgina Page bedroom: Features a walnut queen-size, rice carved bed with a large private bath. The room has a view of our swan in the pond. Individual climate control has been installed for this room. as well as the other rooms.
