The Gatehouse Country Inn Bed and Breakfast is located in the historic and quaint village of Shawnee on Delaware. Minutes from the Delaware River and the beauty of the 70,000 acres which is the Delaware Water Gap National Recreational Park, our guests can relax and enjoy the beauty of The Pocono Mountain Area--truly a full four season retreat.

Each of our four unique guestrooms has its own special style and all feature a private bath, walk-in closet and scenic views. Whether you stay in the elegant Carriage Room, the comfortable Courtyard Room, the quaint Cottage Room or the spacious Loft Room--a quiet, restful night's sleep is assured.

An elegant breakfast is served at your own individual table overlooking The Couryard and the historic, round Icehouse, which is now The Icehouse Antique and Collectible Shoppe.

Guests are invited to enjoy the walking trails around the village, their own umbrella table on The Courtyard and The Game Room which features a full size pool table.

Located approx. 2 hours from Philadelphia and 1.5 hours from NYC, our guests can quickly and easily reconnect and regenerate from their busy lives.

The Gatehouse Country Inn is located in the historic village of Shawnee-on-Delaware--tucked away on the Delaware River, but just minutes from I80 which makes it an easy drive from NYC (1.5 hrs) and Philadelphia (2 hrs). Nearby you can enjoy river adventures, 27 holes of golf, hiking the 70,000 acres of parkland in the Delaware River National Recreational Park, bird watching, antiquing, shopping at the Crossing Outlet Mall, fine dining, miniature golf, skiing, tubing or snowboarding on nearby Shawnee Mountain or Camelback or just relaxing in the fresh air and sunshine. The Pocono Mountain area offers year round indoor and outdoor activities. We will be happy to help you with area attractions.

The Carriage Room is spacious and airy with a queen size bed, a private ensuite bathroom and French doors looking toward The Delaware River beyond. Quiet, restful and private but comfortable and cozy--you are sure to enjoy your stay.

The Loft Room is a very large room (approx. 40 ft. long) with a bank of 8 windows overlooking The Courtyard and the Delaware River . It has a king size bed,two seating areas, TV/VCR and a ensuite bathroom. A very private room. Sleeps up to four.
