Old City House Restaurant has been named as one of Florida's Top 100 restaurants since 1990 by Florida Trend Magazine and as Northeast Florida's top 25 Restaurants by Jacksonville Magazine since its opening. Guests are treated to a full-cooked breakfast in our award winning restaurant each morning.
The Old City House B&B has been voted "Best of St. Augustine" by both the local St. Augustine Record and the Jacksonville Folio Weekly.

The Old City House, originally constructed in 1873, is an excellent example of Spanish Colonial Revival architecture. The coquina stone facade on the Old City House, was built from coquina found on the site, probably remnants from the Sentry station which existed here to guard the S-W corner of the walled city. Legend has it that a ghost of a Spanish Soldier still guards the archway, unaware that he was killed by the misfire of his own musket.

Enter Ilse from South Africa, whose worldly travels and passion for entertaining brought her to St. Augustine thinking of buying an Bed & Breakfast…James from England, engineer, dreaming about the culinary field and owning a restaurant of distinction. Meeting at an English Pub in 1998 was no accident. The Old City House had to happen.

The Old City House is located in the heart of St. Augustine's historic district, within easy walking distance to all the spectacular attractions and history that St. Augustine has to offer.

Our historic building is located within 50 yards of two trolley stops, so feel free to park your car for the duration of your stay. Both trolley also provide shuttles to the Lighthouse Museum, the Fountain of Youth, the Alligator Zoological Park, and St. Augustine Beach all within 2-4 miles of downtown. Complimentary bicycles are also available and are a great way to get around and see the sights.

Most Popular Rooms:

Augustin: Four posted, handcarved, queen size bed set on beautiful hardwood floors. The bed is matched with a plush love seat and mahogany coffee table. As you open the large lead inlay glass door, the whirlpool bath awaits you.

Cordova: Graced with a private entrance off a pleasantly shaded verandah. Décor depicting an Out of Africa theme. Period antiques and a plush chaise lounge compliment the lovely handcarved mahogany, four poster, queen size bed.
