Bed and Breakfast Description

Wintercott Country House is like an elegant English manor house with Laura Ashely fabrics, antiques, and collectibles from Peter and Diana's years of living in Europe and Asia. We offer three rooms, 2 rooms with queen beds (Lily of the Valley and Sweet Pea) and a room with 2 twin size beds (Pineapple). Each room has an ensuite bathroom. Each room looks over a part of the garden.

Enjoy an English breakfast every morning served in the family dining room. Fresh fruit and cereal start of the meal. Then there is always an egg dish served with local sausage and bacon, as well as sweet breads, juice, coffee, and tea.

Victoria and the Saanich Peninsula are blessed with west coast weather, sheltered by the Sooke Hills to the west and the magnificent Olympic Mountains to the south-east. The annual rainfall is surprisingly low, averaging 18 inches a year.

Spend quiet time or visiting time in the atrium, a bright room with access to the garden, where you can also sit and enjoy the birds, butterflies, and dragon flies flitting in and about the garden. Many of the birds are often nesting in the shrubbery nearby.

Relax and enjoy the hot tub .... a special room set up in the house.

Catch up with your friends and family though your own computer. Wifi is available.

Wintercott is close to all major attractions and transportation links. Butchart Gardens, Butterfly Gardens, Victoria's inner harbor, the Royal British Columbia Museum, the Empress Hotel and Government Street attractions are just minutes away. Spend some time whale watching to see the Orca whale's in the wild as well as other Pacific sea life.

Victoria has the distinction of having a week long flower count in February. Butchart Gardens is just minutes away and open year round. There are also several other well known gardens in the area. Golfers play throughout the year. Cordova Bay Golf course is nearby. There are riding stables in the area. The Commonwealth pool is available for recreation swimming. There are many hiking and biking trails. Rent a kayak or canoe for ocean or lake paddling.

Sweet Pea Room: The four poster rice bed is from South Carolina, USA. Every room is equipped with the amenities expected of a comfortable country house. Two comfy chairs, TV, DVD/video player, clock radio, fireplace, extra pillows, duvet, blanket, robes.

Lily of the Valley Room: This very special room has a modern version of the traditional queen four poster bed. This east facing room looks over on to flower beds and the woods. All the amenities listed above are found in this room.
